Our sencha, or sun-grown steamed green tea, comes directly from the PARU Tea Estate in Nara, Japan, 550 meters from the foot of Mt. Kono. This mountain is known by locals and visitors alike for its breathtaking views and as a popular stargazing site. Our farm partner, Taro san, is passionate about using only natural growing methods so that insects and flowering plants can co-exist without disturbance. The tea’s beautifully sweet and delicate green notes make a wonderful complement to seafood and vegetable dishes and rich, creamy desserts.
