This bundle is part of our YAMATO COLLECTION, which features teas grown in present-day Nara, Japan's first capital. These particular teas are sourced from husband-and-wife farmers who made their U.S. debut by partnering with PARU.
Tea No. 1: Yui's Hojicha (1 oz / 28 g)
Hojicha, or roasted green tea, is one of Japan's most popular and diverse teas. Traditionally considered a winter tea for its earthy flavor profile and low caffeine content, Yui's Hojicha is a delicate variation, making it ideal to enjoy throughout the year. An extended steep will bring out subtle notes of chocolate, charcoal, and honey.
Tea No. 2: Yutaka's Kabusecha (2 oz / 56 g)
Kabuse comes from the Japanese term kabuseru (かぶせる), which means to cover. Kabusecha is green tea made from covering the leaves prior to the harvest, and this batcha offers pure, sweet, and hay-like notes. When compared to similar teas, it is compared to sencha, which is the most widely consumed tea in Japan, and gyokuro, a sweet tea that requires three weeks of shade time.
