Hojicha, or roasted green tea, is one of Japan's most popular and diverse teas. Traditionally considered a winter tea for its earthy flavor profile and low caffeine content, Yui's Hojicha is a delicate variation, making it ideal to enjoy throughout the year. An extended steep will bring out subtle notes of chocolate, charcoal, and honey.
This tea is part of our YAMATO COLLECTION, which features teas grown in present-day Nara, Japan's first capital. This particular tea is sourced from husband-and-wife farmers who made their U.S. debut by partnering with PARU.

An absolutely stunning tea, both robust and sensitive on the palette. A coffee-lover at work thoroughly enjoyed this, and I, myself a fan of darker flavored teas with a thicker mouth-feel, found this to be an excellent fit. Don't be fooled - the taste is still clear and melodious and is suitable for both shorter and longer steeping times.
I love Paru's different options of teas, but this one has to be my favorite.
