Kabuse comes from the Japanese term kabuseru (かぶせる), which means to cover. Kabusecha is green tea made from covering the leaves prior to the harvest, and this batch offers pure, sweet, and hay-like notes. When compared to similar teas, it is often placed between sencha, the most widely consumed tea in Japan, and gyokuro, a sweet tea that requires three weeks of shade time.

This tea is part of our YAMATO COLLECTION, which features teas grown in present-day Nara, Japan's first capital. This particular tea is sourced from husband-and-wife farmers who made their U.S. debut by partnering with PARU.
