A casual matcha bowl that allows you to enjoy matcha at home. Its simple and modern design makes it perfect for any dish. Pottery from the Momoyama period is also known as "Drawer Black" or "Tensho Black" brings about a deep, glossy jet-black glaze due to the way it was fired. Heüge uses modern glaze blends and techniques to make "Setoguro" that can be widely used for modern dining.

Please note each bowl is made by hand and may vary in size, shape, and appearance from, the beauty of wabi-sabi. This term in Japanese means “a way of living that focuses on finding beauty within the imperfections of life and accepting peacefully the natural cycle of growth and decay.”

About Heüge and Mino, Japan. The Mino region is known as the number one pottery producing area in Japan. With a history of over 1000 years, it has produced a wide variety of ceramics to suit the styles of each era. Among the 15 types of traditional crafts, Setoguro, Kizeto, Shino, and Oribe are pottery types with balanced colors that have spread beyond the name of Mino ware.

Previously celebrated as "Hyougemono" (charming things), the quality of Mino ware has been a part of Japanese dining for over 1000 years. Today, Heüge expresses this tradition with modern techniques, soil, and glaze. Heüge creates tableware inherent of Mino traditions that can be used daily on the modern dining table and be handed down to the next generation.
