Hanadoki (“flowering season” in Japanese) is our original blend of cherry blossoms, sencha (sun-grown green tea), and rose petals. This year’s batch is extra special because we’ve used tea from the PARU tea estate in Nara. We recommend steeping this tea in glassware for up to two minutes for an earthy, floral, and subtly sweet brew.

  • Origin: Hand-blended in small matches in the PARU Tea Lab; cherry blossoms from Odawara
  • Blend date: April 2022
  • Artisan: Amy Truong
  • Serving size: 1 tsp per cup; double the amount for standard kyusu or glass teapot
  • Recommended vessel: glass teaware for easy viewing

Ingredients: green tea, dried cherry blossom petals, dried rose petals

Caffeine level: Light to moderate

Hand-blended in small batches in the PARU Tea Lab in San Diego.

What is a reserve tea? Reserve teas are teas that offer in limited quantities due to the availability of the tea itself.

Kyoto Dreaming

This tea made me think about walking along the banks of Kyoto's Philosopher’s Walk, hearing the pleasant stream, and enjoying the company of the trees.

I truly have never tasted anything like it. While o enjoy tea, I would not consider myself a “tea drinker” and I cannot stop talking about Paru! Lovely experience and somehow even better tea. The green tea mixed with the cherry blossom is delicate. Thank you Paru!

Love the combination of the green tea and the floral hint from sakura blossoms and rose petals. Love the slight sweet taste. It has an amazing aroma to it and it's so pretty to steep in a clear glass teapot or gaiwan

Sonel P.

great combo with the freshness of the green tea and floral/fruitiness of the petals

Green tea + sakura = perfection! This is my second favorite sakura tea this year (the first being the limited Issho Ni blend that Paru sold at the Japanese Friendship Garden. Hope that makes a comeback next year!)
