Shirabyōshi Matcha

Hi - thank you for reaching out again about my purchase. I recently opened this tin of matcha, and I have to say I’m unfortunately pretty disappointed. I’ve been super excited to try out the matcha - but I’ve found that it’s yellow-green in color (which in itself wasn’t immediately concerning), but the taste was then very bitter and astringent (in unpleasant ways), and it is overall smelling quite rancid. I’m trying to think about how this could have happened since it’s a May 2024 harvest, and i imagine this may have been a storage issue since the matcha otherwise seems to have wonderful reviews. I will also share that since this was my first purchase with Paru, I’m hesitant to buy more matcha from you all unless it happens to be in store at some point in the future. I’m also happy to discuss this further or send back the tin that I do have for further evaluation since I doubt this is a baseline experience for you all either.
