How to Make a Tea Latte

Execute your own barista wizardry at home with this latte recipe.

You will need

Ingredients

-Two teaspoons of loose tea leaves. Make sure the flavors aren't tart or acidic, because it will clash with the milk. We used Blue Chamomile for this recipe.

-1/4 cup of filtered water

-3/4 cup of milk or milk substitute

-1 teaspoon of agave nectar

Tools

-Tea filter (optional)

-Milk frother or whisk

What to do

Boil the water. Steep two teaspoons of loose-leaf tea in the hot water to make an ultra-concentrated tea. Boiling temperature and steep time will vary based on the type of tea you are working with, so consult the tea package for directions. With herbal tea, we recommend using 210F water and steeping for five minutes.

Heat milk and sugar separately until small bubbles start to foam around the edges. Don't bring it to a boil. Then froth the milk with a milk frother for 30 seconds. If you don't own one, you can use a whisk, but it will take longer.

Slowly pour the milk into the tea. Decorate it with tea leaves or our matcha salt (it's really good). Then enjoy.

Voila!
