Four Perspectives: PARU Staff Holiday Picks Under $50

We asked our team what they plan on gifting this season. Here's what they said.

Amy, Founder

"I would gift a classic combination, like our MAEK teacups and an easy-to-drink blend, like our Blue Chamomile. The teacups are beautifully handcrafted and non-obtrusive, too."

Lani, Creative Director

"I second the MAEK teacups. They fit perfectly in the palm of your hand. I also like gifting single-origin teas like our Milk Oolong and Moriuchi's Sencha along with a tempting treat, like our Earl Grey & Lavender Dark Chocolate Bar."

Eden, Assistant Manager

"When it comes to tea, I think it's thoughtful to gift complete sets. I've gifted some expensive tea to people before, and it just ended up in the cupboard because they didn't have the proper equipment. Two ideas: Blooming Flowers + Kinto Unimug, or the Tea Flight Kit (Classic)*."

*Kit includes tea filters for those who don't have a teapot.

Nico, Seasonal Tea Associate

"Thinking from an outsider's perspective ... I would gift our [reserve] teas because they're more unique. I'd go for a few [half-size] bags of the Lemon Lychee and Okinawa Sugar so they can try different things."

We hope you and yours are having a safe, warm holiday season so far. To receive your PARU packages on time, please order by 12/14 (standard shipping). For our local patrons, our shop will be open for extended hours:

  • Sunday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

We will be closed Christmas Day and the day after Christmas but will resume regular hours on Sunday, December 27. We will also be closed on New Year's Day to ensure that: 1) our shop is thoroughly cleaned to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the community and 2) our team gets some well-deserved rest.

In the meantime, we're here to answer any tea-related or gifting questions.
