Moriuchi's Gyokuro is meticulously grown in the shade for four weeks from the saemidori ("clear green") cultivar, which results in a smooth, elegant, and umami taste. Due to the labor required, a limited amount is produced every year.

Run by a husband-and-wife team, the Moriuchi Tea Farm in Shizuoka has been around since the Edo Period and earned a distinction as a tea farm for the Imperial Court in 2002.

    What a Lovely Store

The staff are lovely and so helpful. The tea I purchased is of very high quality. I recommend an in store matcha drink. Delicious and great presentation.
