Crafted by tea master Wen from the Wuyi area in China, lapsang souchong tea gets its distinct smoky flavor from being dried over pinewood fires. With notes of pine smoky flavor, the tea takes on its characteristic scent, strong in the first few infusions and slowly fading through subsequent steeps, but never disappearing completely.

Warm Smokey delight

I am amazed by the potency of the fragrance vs the actual taste of the tea. I was worried it would be too strong, even adhering to the brew time (3 min) but it is so warm and slightly smokey. I experimented with longer brew times (4-5 min) and the flavor was bolder but not overpowering. Although I prefer it warm, it is pretty nice with ice as well.
